We decided to go on a little camping trip to Lake Tahoe. Why there? Because you haven't lived until you see this beautiful place and gaze into it's unusually blue water. So we strapped the kayak to the Jeep, loaded all our gear, and off we went.
This was Ryan's 1st camping trip ever, so we wanted to make it a memorable one. Malynda planned and executed some awesome dutch oven meals. Ryan didn't imagine we would eat so well in the woods. We had a great time hanging around the campfire on our 1st night telling stories and goofing around as you could tell by that previously posted survivor man clip. Ryan stayed up tending the fire much later than us landlubbers, so late in fact he couldn't figure out how to unzip the tent and ended up sleeping in the Jeep. We woke up to a gourmet breakfast fit for a mountain man and headed down to the lake for a day of kayaking and frolicking in the water.
We all had an amazing time together, and we feel very honored that Ryan chose to use his leave time to visit us. I would have to say that having him here was one of the best weeks that we shared as a family all summer, (however, I could have done without the whole bear incident altogether though. We already miss Ryan and can't wait to spend time with him again! Malynda

Ryan even said the time spent with your family was one of the best leaves he has had yet... now go out and get one of those AIR HORNS!
