We took a hike around Tahoe (prior to the fire).

This trail that we ended up on was suppose to lead us to Lake Marlette. We had never heard of this lake and were'nt even sure what to expect but, we were up for the adventure.
This picture was taken about 2 1/2 hours into the hike.
Yes, 2 1/2 hours and still no lake!

And this is what we stumbled upon after hiking the 3 hour trail! Isn't this amazing! My favorite part about this lake is, you can only get here on foot or Bicycle. Therefore, it is quiet, serene and untouched by watercraft. Nature at its best!!!

We hung out by the lake for a good half hour just trying to take it all in! We would have loved to stay longer, but it was quickly approaching sunset and we still had to take the whole hike again to get back. The journey ended up being a 5 hour jaunt. We hiked a total of 9 miles! Can't wait to do it again! Nate's poor back though, I think we will have to wait until Chloe can take the hike on her own two feet.
